astudiaeth maes // a field study
Created for Eisteddfod Tregaron, Ceredigion 2022
FFERMWAITH – astudiaeth maes (FARMWORK – a field study) is an improvisatory sound and movement performance by 6 local creative practitioners from farming backgrounds: Eddie Ladd, Elan Elidyr, Osian Meilyr, Chris Tandy, Alun Eildyr and Glyn Roberts (FFRWD), all with deep ancestral agricultural roots intertwined with Welsh culture, language and politics.
Incorporating CORON CARON, a living willow sculpture, shelter, and sanctuary sited within Penybont Farm and adjacent to the foundations of the poet and writer Kitchener Davies’s birthplace/ farmstead. The text recited in the film are extracts from his seminal work ‘Swn-y-Gwynt yn Chwythu’ (The Sound of the Wind Blowing).
